Introduction:Celtel International B.V. (Celtel), the Netherlands-based company ventured into the emerging African mobile communications market in the late 1990s.

Leveraging on itswide network, service quality and customer care, by the end of 2004, the company reported a net profit of $147 million.

In 2005, Celtel was acquired by Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC).

Celtel intends to expand its operations across Africa and increase its customer base by offering differentiated value added services.
